Solvy NZ ("Solvy", "we", "us") operates the solvy.co.nz website and provides an independent solar marketplace service connecting homeowners ("Customers") with vetted solar installation companies ("Installers"). By submitting an enquiry through our website you agree to these Terms of Service.
Solvy is an independent marketplace. We are not a solar installation company and do not perform physical installation work. Our service includes:
Solvy's service is completely free for homeowners. We are funded by Installers in our network who pay fees to access qualified leads. You will never be charged for receiving quotes through Solvy.
The legal contract for solar installation work is between you and your chosen Installer directly. Solvy facilitates the introduction and quoting process but is not a party to the installation contract. You should review all quotes carefully and satisfy yourself as to the terms before proceeding.
All Installers in the Solvy network are vetted to confirm they hold:
While we take reasonable steps to vet Installers, Solvy cannot guarantee the quality of physical installation work and accepts no liability for workmanship defects. Installers carry their own warranties and public liability insurance.
Where Solvy collects payment on behalf of a transaction:
You may cancel your quote request at any time before confirming an Installer at no cost. Where a deposit has been paid and you cancel after an Installer has been confirmed, cancellation terms are governed by the installation contract between you and the Installer.
An optional independent post-installation inspection is available at a fee of $299 (incl. GST) for Solvy customers. This inspection is conducted by an independent licensed electrician and covers workmanship quality against NZ standards and manufacturer specifications. Solvy's liability in respect of any quality inspection report is limited to $500.
To the maximum extent permitted by NZ law, Solvy's total liability for any claim arising from use of our service is limited to $500. Nothing in these terms affects your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or the Fair Trading Act 1986.
In the first instance, please contact Solvy at hello@solvy.co.nz to raise any concerns. Where a dispute cannot be resolved, disputes may be referred to the Disputes Tribunal of New Zealand.
Solvy reserves the right to update these terms at any time. Continued use of our service after notification of changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
